Daanbantayan situated North of Cebu, has been a sanctuary of real beauty of nature and people composed of 20 barangays.According to 2000 census it has a population of 69,336 in13,472 houses. It's white beach sand and blue waters captivated most foreign and local guests.
The name Daanbantayan was derived from two words: the word "Daan" (which means "old" in the Cebuano language, and the word "Bantayan" which refers to a place that served as a "look-out-station" for Moro raiders before the Spaniards obtained control of the Philippines.
